Alquitrán
I joined my first band as the lead guitarist during high school in 2006 with some friends who introduced me to grunge music – I loved it instantly! We started by playing covers from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Silverchair, Rage Against the Machine and from argentinian bands like Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota and Los Brujos. Our own music explored dark and confusion lyrics, mixed with powerful guitar melodies, and very solid and potent rhythm and bass parts. After 6 years of playing gigs and recording an album, each member wanted to explore different styles, so we put the project on pause.
Árboles al Universo
During my Music College studies, I got an invitation to play oboe and english horn in an already formed group, with more advanced students from the same Uni. The name was “Árboles al Universo”, which translates to “Trees to the Universe”. Integrated with Bass, Piano, Cello, Flute, Clarinet and Oboe, we played improvisations and own compositions influenced mostly by Russian composers from the XX century. I learned a lot with them! We played many gigs in Buenos Aires, recorded a demo (below) and an album that’s to be mixed.
